Countdown to Christmas: Day 17

8 Dec

Good morning! As promised, I’ve got another great gift idea for you today.

This one comes to you courtesy of Alessandra Gutierrez at

Thanks Alessandra!

She suggests making a personalized journal, by weaving strips of oragami paper together to cover a notebook. Here’s what her version of the finished product looks like:

And here’s where you can get the step by step instructions.

How easy is that?!? I think this is something you could definitely put together in an evening.

If you don’t have any oragami paper, why not try using your leftover wrapping paper instead? I think that would look amazing.

And  you could easily substitute a larger notebook, photo album, or even a binder instead of the smaller journal.

If there are any foodies on your gift list, you could make a great recipe-themed gift: cover a binder with woven wrapping paper, and  slip in a favourite cookie recipe. Include a mason jar with the  pre-measured, dry ingredients, and ta-da! An easy, personalized (and delicious) gift they’ll actually use!

Wow, now I’m hungry.

I also have the urge to go buy wrapping paper…

I’ll see you back here tomorrow for the end of another work week!
