Yesterday Was A Harry Potter Day

21 Feb

Well hello! Did you all have fabulous weekends? More importantly…did you miss me?

My apologies for not posting earlier today; we had a holiday yesterday so it was a long weekend for those of us here in Ontario, and it’s taken me until oh, right…about.. now to get out of holiday mode and ready to face Corporate World again. Mind you, I left Corporate World for the day about seven hours ago now…do you think that’s going to be a problem?

The important thing, however, is not that I’m now sufficiently rested and relaxed to tackle three more whole days in the workplace; no, the important thing is that…

Yesterday Was: Harry Potter Day. Ok, technically Saturday was Harry Potter Day, but that had a better ring to it. Fits with my nice shiny new theme and everything. But the important thing, however, is not that I’m thematically consistent; no the important thing is that…

On Saturday my friend K and I saw “Potted Potter: A Parody” at the Panasonic Theatre. Aside from being pleasingly alliterative, I have to say that the show was the most hilarious piece of theatre I’ve seen in a long, long time. It’s preformed by a pair of very energetic guys, Dan and Jeff, who have taken on the very energetic goal of recreating all seven books in the Harry Potter series…in seventy minutes.

Lights, Camera, Action! Here you can watch how the professionals do it…

And here’s Dan and Jeff in action.

And, scene: “Professional” may not be the way to describe these two…but I was laughing too much to care.

If you’re interested, the show has been extended and the guys will be performing in Toronto until March 25th.
