Aww, I Miss My…

8 Apr

TGIF everybody! We made it through another week! Sending high-fives through cyberspace to you all.

As thrilled as I am that the weekend is upon us, I have to admit that I’m feeling a little blue. I’m a bit lost, actually, because this weekend is going to be the first time in about a month that I’ll be without my…stationary?!?

Yes, you read that correctly. Though I’m looking forward to spending the weekend with my good friend Kristin, I am going to be missing my stationary. And here’s why.

You’ll be happy to know that I wasn’t completely welded to my couch before I started this blog; since November of last year, I’ve been volunteering a few times a month at Paper Things, which is just about the greatest store in the history of stores (in my unbiased opinion, anyway 🙂 )

is owned and run by the Volunteer Committee for the National Ballet of Canada. That means that with the exception of the store managers and the in-house graphic designer, every store employee isn’t actually an employee at all – they’re volunteers. All proceeds made from the store go to, you guessed it, the National Ballet of Canada. Last year’s production of Cinderella was a gift to the Ballet from the Volunteer Committee, and I’m thrilled to have contributed to that.

Oh, and did I mention that the store is gorgeous, the volunteers are all amazing to work with, and our customers are wonderful too?

Definitely come check us out if you’re in the neighbourhood! (And don’t worry, I’ll be back at the store next weekend.)
